How do I get started?
If you are considering introducing learning technologies into your course or teaching activity, you are always welcome to contact us. We are happy to discuss individual projects or to participate in staff meetings or give workshops to groups of teachers. You find our contact information in the infobox to the right.
For those of you who have already undergone DTU’s teacher training (UDTU or UP), LearningLab DTU offers an advanced course on “E-learning and Blended Learning at DTU”.
DTU offers some facilities that you can use free of charge as a teacher. You can read more about these facilities and how you get access to them below.
How do I implement e-learning in a meaningful way?
LearningLab DTU recommends that you take an action research approach to developing your teaching – and this also goes for incorporating learning technologies into your course or teaching activity.
Taking an action research approach implies that implementing e-learning is guided by the following process:
- You identify a problem or an area for development and pose a research question, i.e. something you wish to understand and improve in your own teaching practice
- You design an investigation/initiative, define the scope of your project, make a plan, and carry out experiments to address that area using learning technologies
- You gather and interpret data and evaluate the effect of the initiative
- You make changes to your practice based on your findings
- You reflect on the results (and share with others)
A project does not have to be large scale in order for action research to make sense. Rather, action research is a mindset of trying out new initiatives using a structured approach.
Take a look at this video on YouTube if you would like some inspiration on posing a good research question for your action research project.
